About John
John Vercher is a Mason resident, husband, father, Global War on Terror (Operation Enduring Freedom, 2010) veteran, Registered Nurse, former first responder, and Healthcare Business Intelligence Program Manager. His work has centered on service, systems, quality, operations, infection prevention, and data that helps people make better decisions.
That background shapes how John approaches local government. He believes good decisions start with listening, clear information, practical questions, and respect for the people affected by the outcome.
John has been involved in Mason through service as Vice Chair of the Planning Commission, prior City Council service, and chair roles with the Building Authority and Local Officers Compensation Commission. He has also stayed active in the community through the VFW, veterans support groups, and the Optimist Club. He understands that local government is not abstract. It shows up in the condition of a road, the reliability of a utility, the clarity of a public meeting, and whether residents feel heard before decisions are made.
John is not running to make unrealistic promises. He is running to do the work: to listen, prepare, ask useful questions, take stewardship seriously, and help Mason plan responsibly for the future.
